- 1/4 cup non-hydrogenated vegan margarine
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning, or a pinch of each: ground rosemary, thyme, rubbed sage, marjoram or oregano, parsley or basil or savory
- 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cups chicken-flavored vegetable broth, or regular vegetable broth, or bouillon & water
Melt margarine in a saucepan on medium. Whisking, add flour, poultry seasoning, salt and paprika. Whisking, gradually add broth. Increase heat to medium-high, cook and whisk 5 minutes until thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.
