- 2 cups vegetable stock, or water & bouillon
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes
- 1 teaspoon vegan Worcestershire sauce (such as Annie's Naturals)
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated onion
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch or 4 teaspoons arrowroot
- 2 tablespoons whole-wheat or other flour
- 2 teaspoons Marmite, optional
- 1/4 teaspoon salt, or to taste
In a saucepan whisk all ingredients, except salt, together until well combined. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then simmer and whisk until thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon. Taste, and add salt if desired.
